WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
European Institutions: Expert in AI/NLP/ML
Join our client’s team in Brussels as Expert in AI/NLP/ML within the European Commission.
RTD.H.DEP.IT in partnership with other Commission services and stakeholders, provides high quality
corporate solutions/information systems for the Research and Innovation Family, enabling the successful
implementation of the Commission's Digital Transformation and EU policies.
In close collaboration with other Commission services and its customers, the RTD.H.DEP.IT builds and
operates solutions in the areas of grants, experts and procurement management.

OUR TASKS
Design, implement and maintain a scalable, reliable and secure hybrid cloud ML Ops infrastructure to deploy, test, manage and monitor ML models in different environments;
Development and maintenance of software applications in the field of Natural Language Processing(NLP), Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL) and/or Artificial Intelligence (AI);
Work closely with data scientists and back-end developers to build, test, integrate and deploy ML
models;
Analyse performance metrics and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability;
Design CI/CD pipelines, use orchestration solutions and data versioning tools;
Creating automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance;
Design the IT architecture for solutions in the NLP / ML / AI fields, and coordinate its
implementation considering master- and meta-data management concepts;
Provision of security studies, security assessments or other security matters associated with
information system projects.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Following skills and knowledge are required:
Excellent knowledge of managing an on-prem and/or cloud MLOps infrastructure.
Excellent knowledge of application containerization, virtualization.
Good knowledge of Airflow, MLflow, TensorFlow (TFX), Kubeflow or equivalents.
Good knowledge of AWS and/or Azure.
Good knowledge of Python and its NLP/ML libraries (SpaCy, NLTK, scikit-learn, pandas…).
Good knowledge of Linux.
Good knowledge of Unix and Bash.
Good knowledge of natural language processing systems lifecycle and agile software development methodologies.
Knowledge of NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase, etc.
Knowledge of query languages, such as SQL, Hive, Pig, etc. and with information extraction.
Knowledge of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, Neural Network, and/or artificial intelligence frameworks.
Experience with alignment models and classification methods.
Experience with data analytics over big datasets, non-structured databases as well as data lakes.
Optional certifications:
AWS Certified Machine Learning.
Microsoft Azure AI Engineer Associate.
Excellent knowledge of on-prem or cloud solutions for data science applications.
Ability to give business and technical presentations.
Ability to apply high quality standards.
Ability to cope with fast changing technologies.
Very good communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
Analysis and problem solving skills.
Capability to write clear and structured technical documents.
Ability to participate in technical meetings and good communication skills

Excellent Team Player
Ability to understand, speak and write French (B1/B2) will be an advantage;
High degree of discretion and integrity is required as the applications managed and maintained in
DIGIT.A.4 may contain personal and confidential data.
EXTRA INFORMATION
It will be required to work remotely from home in
Near-site location
allowing to reach the Commission premises in Brussels within 2 hours
Laptop will be provided by the Commission
Both Freelance and Permanent contracts
